Berks boys soccer tournament: Top-seed Conrad Weiser stays unbeaten, moves on to semifinals

Luke Callahan and Cash Stout scored goals as top-seed Conrad Weiser blanked Non. 8 Tulpehocken 2-0 in the quarterfinals of BCIAA boys soccer tournament on Saturday at Conrad Weiser High Scholl.

Abu Barrie and Owen Meredith had assists for the Scouts, who are 18-0-1 and will play No. 4 Oley Valley in the semifinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Conrad Weiser.

Scouts goalie Dan Heil made 3 saves. Landon Hoffert made 5 saves for the Trojans (13-6).

Oley Valley defeated Kutztown 4-1 in their quarterfinal match on Saturday. Oley improves to 14-4-1 and Kutztown drops to 14-4-1.

Conrad Weiser won Division 2 of the BCIAA in the regular season with a 12-0 record and Oley won Division 3 with a 9-2 mark.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 5 Muhlenberg beat No. 2 Exeter 2-1 in overtime, and second-seeded Wilson downed No. 7 Schuylkill Valley 6-0.

Muhlenberg will travel to Wilson for a 5:30 p.m. semifinal match on Tuesday.

For the Muhls on Saturday, Josh Miller scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

Also for the Muhls (10-7), Damian Ramirez scored in the first half as Muhlenberg led 1-0 at the break.

Evan Smith scored on an assist from Braden Karas for Exeter (11-5-2) to tie the match in the second half.

Exeter had a 14-11 edge in shots. Muhlenberg goalie Johence Avila made 9 saves. For Exeter, goalie Brenton Feathers made 7 saves.

Muhlenberg finished second in Division 1 during the regular season with a 5-6 record.

For Wilson, the defending Berks champion, Alex Crouse scored two goals as the second-seeded Bulldogs improved to 13-6 overall.

Also for Wilson, the Division 1 regular season winners, Gavin Davis scored and had two assists.

The championship match will be Thursday at a time and site to be determined.
