As the nights draw in, there are still plenty of people and events lighting up life in Bristol.
First up are the Bears, who beat Exeter Chiefs in a thriller at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
Then there are those helping the homeless, winning awards as food trucks or police staff, or impressing the Ofsted inspectors.
Here is our weekly selection of images showing the events of the past week in the city and surrounding area.
Late drama: Bristol Bears were up against it for much of the game on Saturday, having a player off the pitch for 20 minutes due to a red card, but they won it late on, claiming an 18-14 victory.
We’ll never forget: Noah’s Ark Zoo has unveiled this stunning mosaic of an elephant made entirely of 11,000 different-coloured pumpkins.
All action: The Weston Beach Race drew thousands of spectators to the town last weekend. The weather put paid to Saturday’s action, but Sunday’s programme went ahead to the delight of the crowds.
That winning feeling: The team behind Bristol-based food truck Jolly Trolly, which serves fire-cooked meals, have been celebrating after being crowned the UK’s most sustainable food truck at the national British Street Food Awards.
Top marks: The Raised in Bristol nursery which is hosted in the Easton Community Centre has been rated “Good” in all areas by Ofsted inspectors.
Great lengths: A 24-hour swim-athon took place at Jubilee Community Swimming Pool in Knowle on Saturday to help raise much needed funds to keep the pool afloat.
Up for the cup: Luke Thomas scored the only goal as Bristol Rovers won their Vertu Trophy group stage match away at Cheltenham on Tuesday.
Guess who’s back: Staff have been preparing to open the new flagship M&S store inside Cabot Circus. The 80,000 sq ft store, which will cover three levels of the shopping centre, is due to open on 13 November.
Progress: Demolition work is under way on the former Filton Airfield warehouses that will eventually become Bristol’s 20,000-capacity arena.
A place to recover: Simon Hill has lived in one of the micro flats at Help Bristol’s Homeless, one of the charities which has benefitted from the BillyChip campaign where the public can buy tokens which can be exchanged for services by those struggling. A fundraising concert for BillyChip is being held at Bristol Beacon on 22 November.
Top of the cops: A group of staff who work to support police officers when they are under investigation has won the Team of the Year Award at the 2025 Avon & Somerset Police Federation Recognition Awards. They volunteer to do the work on top of their day jobs.
Ashby Edmonds, who defied all odds to become a national swimming champion, returned to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children where he had life-saving surgery after being born 16 years ago.
