Clemsonfootball made its trip to Chestnut Hill look easy, overwhelming Boston College 41-10 in a game that was essentially decided by halftime. The Tigers scored on every first-half drive, showing the kind of offensive rhythm that’s been missing for much of the season.
Cade Cade Klubnik was in full control, spreading the ball around and keeping the Eagles’ defense off balance. He threw for 280 yards and a touchdown, ran for another, and helped Clemson build a 34-10 cushion before leaving late in the third quarter with a leg injury. His absence slowed the offense, but the tone had already been set.
Adam Randall extended his touchdown streak to six straight games, while Peter Woods added a short-yardage score out of the power set to keep the momentum rolling. Bryant Wesco came up big downfield with a 38-yard touchdown grab, and kicker Nolan Hauser hit from 50 yards to close out the half.

Defensively, Clemson stayed aggressive, with Jahiem Lawson recording two sacks and constant pressure up front. Keith Adams Jr. finished the night with a late touchdown as the Tigers broke the 40-point mark for the first time all year, looking far more like the team they expected to be.
Cade Klubnik looked great in back-to-back games, despite the injury
Outside of a brutal interception in the red zone, it was a near-perfect day for Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik. The senior completed 22/30 passes for 280 yards and a passing touchdown, along with 9 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He looked a lot more composed than in previous weeks and had the Clemson offense humming.
His ankle injury was a bit scary. He got rolled up and it didn’t look great, but we’ve also seen a lot worse, so it’s tough to know right now… Especially with Dabo Swinney as the head coach. Klubnik looked in high spirits after the game, so I’m leaning toward it not being too serious.
Where was this play-calling from Garrett Riley when Clemson needed it?
I know the talent level of North Carolina and Boston College is lower than the teams the Tigers opened their season with, but that doesn’t mean you need to coach each game so aggressively differently. Riley has clearly opened up the playbook more these past couple of weeks, and the results have been night and day different. Why have the training wheels on when Clemson needed explosive plays?
None of it makes sense to me, but at least we’ve seen a change before it was technically too late. Clemson’s season isn’t over yet; there’s a lot of football to be played. This is the Garrett Riley we need to see.
Clemson’s defensive line finally showed life in pass rush
Clemson’s defensive line has been far from elite this season, which has been one of the biggest shocks of their underwhelming start. Hopefully, this Boston College performance is what’s going to turn things around for a unit that’s way too talented to start the way they did.
Five sacks, seven tackles for loss, and 221 total yards allowed from the defense were, in large part, due to the front seven. They need to run with this performance and start making this the norm.
Antonio Williams and Bryant Wesco are arguably the best WR duo in college football
When Antonio Williams and Bryant Wesco are on the field together, Clemson’s offense is very dangerous. I would flat out say they are the best duo in college football if Jeremiah Smith wasn’t a thing at Ohio State. He’s the best wide receiver in the game, and his running mate Carnell Tate is also fantastic. Right behind them is this duo.
Williams and Wesco combined for 12 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown Saturday, fueling the Tigers’ passing attack. Wesco’s touchdown catch showed off why he’s going to be a problem in the NFL with some ridiculous body control. He’ll have to wait longer than Williams, who should be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
The Clemson offense could be in BIG trouble when Cade Klubnik leaves
I respect backup quarterback Christopher Vizzina immensely for sticking with Clemson as a highly touted recruit in the NIL and Transfer Portal Era of college football. He’s stuck with the program, and next year, it looks like it’ll be his team. The issue with that is what we’ve seen from Vizzina.
We’ve seen limited Vizzina action, but in games he’s played, he hasn’t looked capable of running this Clemson offense. Last night was another example of it, with Garrett Riley clearly not trusting Vizzina with the playbook. It’s early, but the Tigers may seriously have to consider the transfer portal for a quarterback.
