LeSean McCoy didn't sugarcoat his feelings about a much-maligned Eagles defender

Regardless of how long you’ve been a Philadelphia Eagles fan or media member, you’re well aware of what to expect. Some call it ‘passion’. Others believe there are times when that affinity and affection for this team drifts past respectable lines and becomes lunacy.

However you label it, here’s where we agree. There might be a fan base or two that cares just as much. There isn’t one that cares more. They’re a demanding bunch, but once they’ve seen their heroes give their all to this team, they’re loyal forever.

LeSean McCoy earned his wings a long time ago. He did so long before a Herculean performance in the middle of a blizzard. The man affectionately referred to as ‘Shady’ is an Eagles Hall of Famer, one who is now being considered for enshrinement in Canton.

Every individual has the right to their opinion, but they aren’t created equal. Some hold more weight than others. When Shady talks, we listen, and on the heels of an uninspired performance from Adoree’ Jackson following Quinyon Mitchell’s Week 6 injury on Thursday Night Football, McCoy called him out on social media.

This feels like kicking a man when he is down, and for that, here’s an apology for what’s about to be said. It still must be said, though. It’s easy to understand why McCoy is upset by that poor attempt at a tackle.

No Eagles fan or alum is going to see that and go about their critique of Jackson delicately. Maybe saying “It’s time to retire” is cold and possibly crossing the line, but again, this is Shady talking. We know where his heart is. We know where his loyalty lies.

Jackson isn’t totally to blame for the Eagles laying an egg versus the New York Giants, but he and Kelee Ringo are among the goats. And, we don’t mean G.O.A.T. in the positive sense.

Here’s where positivity comes in because it’s needed. We hope that this galvanizes Jackson to give a better effort and do so consistently moving forward. He’s been called out by a legend. He can validate McCoy’s claims by refusing to answer the call. From what we’ve seen, we’re betting on the former. Let’s hope he proves us correct.
