Congratulations to Roncalli’s Reagan Turk on being voted Player of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 4! Turk helped the Royals to a Marion County championship, registering 52 digs over three matches between Thursday and Saturday (17 vs. Lawrence North, 20 vs. Brebeuf Jesuit and 15 vs. Franklin Central). The senior libero finished the week with 69 digs and only two errors on 48 receptions. Turk also had nine aces.
Here are this week’s top performers.
Ashlyn Alexander, Covington
The Northwestern Ohio commit totaled 61 digs, 22 kills and six aces between two matches. Alexander has 174 kills, 58 aces, six blocks and 351 digs through 86 sets this season.
Brooklyn Barth, Lake Central
The senior libero registered 31 digs over six sets. Barth was also charged with only one error on 27 receptions, served up two aces and passed out eight assists.
Reese Feldman, Brebeuf Jesuit
Feldman sent the Braves into sectionals on a high note, scoring 12 kills (.450 hitting), two aces, two blocks and four digs in a three-set sweep of North Central.
Azure Flagle, New Palestine
The senior libero helped the Dragons reverse sweep rival Mt. Vernon, posting 30 digs, two aces and an assist. She also had 21 digs, an ace and four assists in a five-set loss to Noblesville.
Landree Johnson, Yorktown
The freshman cleared 1,000 career assists with a pair of 40-plus assist outings: 43 in a three-set sweep of Fishers and 49 in a four-set triumph over Muncie Burris. Johnson, who averages over 10 assists per set, also has 229 digs, 34 aces, 10 blocks and 19 kill this season.
Addison Knox, Lawrence North
The junior picked up 34 kills, five aces, seven blocks and 28 digs over four matches for the MIC champion Wildcats. Knox has 163 kills on the season.
Averie Leblanc, Zionsville
Leblanc cleared 1,000 career assists in style, posting 30 in a sweep of North Central, 54 vs. Guerin Catholic and 32 vs. Avon. The senior also collected three kills, two aces, a block and 18 digs (nine vs. Guerin).
Chase Lemming, Seeger
Lemming continues putting up massive numbers on the attack. She started the week with 40 kills on .516 hitting vs. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, initiating a six-match stretch with 114 terminations. She also had 21 on Tuesday vs. Southmont. The senior also logged 18 aces and 79 digs.
McKenna Mullen, Borden
Mullen officially scored her 1,000th career kill in a 3-0 win over Corydon Central. The senior registered 15 kills on .220 hitting that match, plus an ace, a block, 14 digs and an assist. Stats are missing from Mullen’s freshman season, so she likely achieved the milestone earlier in the season (or last year).
Emily Noto, Penn
The freshman shined against New Prairie in her lone match of the week, notching 12 kills on .571 hitting and a block in the three-set victory.
Reese Resmer, Noblesville
The senior Kansas State commit was activated on the attack in a five-set win over New Palestine, recording 31 kills on .481 hitting, three blocks and a dig. Resmer also blocked eight shots and put down 16 kills in a three-set sweep of Brownsburg and logged 10 kills vs. East Central.
Avery Smith, Eastern
Smith had 64 kills, 25 digs and six aces in nine sets, leading the Musketeers to three-set sweeps of Crawford County, Christian Academy of Indiana and West Washington. She posted a double-double vs. Crawford (23 kills, 12 digs) and had 22 kills vs. West Washington.
