Lions DB punched Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster after K.C. defeated Detroit on 'SNF'

Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch punched Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster after a heated interconference matchup on ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Week 6.

The Lions were defeated by the reigning AFC champions in the primetime tilt, and Branch seemed to take exception to Smith-Schuster’s good sportsmanship after the final whistle blew.

When Branch saw Smith-Schuster extend his hand for a postgame embrace, he returned the gesture with a shot to the veteran wideout’s facemask, which caused a broader scuffle between Lions and Chiefs players.

Take a look at Branch’s interaction with Smith-Schuster in this video, which was posted to Twitter by Matt Foster of KSHB 41 News:

Fans should expect Branch to face some kind of discipline from the NFL for his outburst after Sunday night’s game.

Stay tuned to find out if the incident is addressed by Lions head coach Dan Campbell or Chiefs skipper Andy Reid during their postgame press conferences.
