After two wins in their last three games, the Washington Commanders seem like they’re finally hitting their stride. But entering an intriguing matchup with Caleb Williams’ Chicago Bears on Monday night, the Commanders still won’t have all their most important horses.
The Commanders’ No. 1 receiver, Terry McLaurin, has been dealing with a quad injury for a few weeks now. Unfortunately for both McLaurin and Washington, the playmaker’s health has not progressed nearly enough to return to game action quite yet. As such, McLaurin will miss the game against the Bears under the lights.
If there’s a silver lining in this situation, at least McLaurin hasn’t suffered any unforeseen setbacks in his recovery. If there’s a troubling trend to monitor, it’s that this quad injury is leading McLaurin to miss much more time than he’s accustomed to:
Terry McLaurin missed just three games via injury over his first six seasons in the NFL. He played in 94 of Washington’s 97 games during span, going the last 68 contests without missing any time.

The Commanders remain explosive and cohesive enough to still enjoy offensive success without their best pass-catcher. Still, they will miss McLaurin until he returns. Here’s hoping he sees better news on this front next week.
