AFC playoff picture: Where do the Broncos stand?

Six games into the 2025 season, the Denver Broncos have their best record since 2016.

The Broncos are 4-2 and well-positioned to contend for a playoff spot in the AFC this season. Denver’s currently behind the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) in the AFC West due to a head-to-head tiebreaker, but they’re above the Kansas City Chiefs (3-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (2-4) in the division.

The AFC will send seven teams to the playoffs — four division winners and three Wild Card teams. If the season ended today, the Broncos would be in as the No. 7 seed in the conference. Here’s a look at how things stand going into Week 7.

NFL playoff picture (AFC)

  1. Indianapolis Colts: 5-1
  2. Pittsburgh Steelers: 4-1
  3. Los Angeles Chargers: 4-2
  4. New England Patriots: 4-2
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-2
  6. Buffalo Bills: 4-2
  7. Denver Broncos: 4-2

The Chiefs are currently the No. 8 seed, and they will undoubtedly push for a spot — if not as a division winner, then as a Wild Card contender.

Up next for Denver is a home game against the New York Giants in Week 7.
