With Anthony Richardson hurt, quarterback and Notre Dame alum Riley Leonard has moved up into the second-string role for the Indianapolis Colts.
Leonard, last year’s starter for the Fighting Irish, says that he’s prepared for the role, or for the starting role if need be, thanks to the advice of current Colts‘ starter Daniel Jones.
Leonard told the media that he’s especially learned how to handle the mental aspects of the game from Jones.
The Colts are off to a 5-1 start and currently lead the AFC South, and Jones has played a part in that. The NFL being what it is, Leonard could be one play away from being the starter.
So it’s good to see that Leonard is learning already, even in his rookie season.
