NFL world reacts to Commanders' gifting the Bears a win

The Washington Commanders suffered their most humiliating defeat of the 2025 season on Monday, losing to the Chicago Bears 25-24 on a last-second field goal. It wasn’t humiliating because Washington lost, but the Commanders had multiple chances to put the game away and a Jayden Daniels’ mishandled snap with three minutes remaining put the Bears in position to win the game.

After Daniels fumbled, Washington never saw the ball again before kicker Jake Moody’s 38-yard game-winning field goal. Turnovers were the name of the game for the Commanders. Washington turned it over three times, with Chicago scoring off each turnover. The first turnover came on a Daniels’ interception in the red zone, something he never does.

While Daniels played well outside of the turnovers, they proved costly. Additionally, it was another poor effort from Washington’s defense. Heading into this game, the run defense was the best part of the unit. D’Andre Swift ran for 108 yards and also had a 55-yard touchdown catch-and-run, a result of a poor tackle attempt from Washington safety Quan Martin.

In two years with the Bears, Swift has only had two games over 100 yards rushing: both came against the Commanders.

No surprise, Washington social media was not happy. Let’s check out some of the top reactions, via X.
