NFL world reacts to Troy Aikman's commentary on Bears QB Caleb Williams

The Chicago Bears defeated the Washington Commanders, 25-24, in a thrilling finish on Monday Night Football. It marked Chicago’s third straight win and was a rare after-the-bye-week victory.

With the Bears in the prime-time spotlight, they had the announcer duo of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, and let’s just say NFL fans weren’t appreciating Aikman’s commentary about Chicago, specifically quarterback Caleb Williams.

Williams has shown improvement under new head coach Ben Johnson. And while Williams didn’t have his best outing of the season (that came against Aikman’s Dallas Cowboys), he did enough to help position his team for a win. He completed 17–of-29 passes for 252 yards with one touchdown and no turnovers.

Aikman didn’t go easy on Williams all night, which didn’t go unnoticed by fans watching Aikman’s high praise for Jayden Daniels but dismissive, critical analysis of Williams. Luckily for Bears fans, Chicago got the last laugh with a last-second, game-winning field goal by backup kicker Jake Moody to seal the victory. And they won’t have to listen to Aikman on another Bears call this season.
