The have a massive hole on the interior of their defensive line that must be addressed.

Outside of Devonte Wyatt, who is currently dealing with a knee injury, Green Bay lacks difference makers on the interior. Though Rashan Gary and Micah Parsons are playing at a high level at edge rusher, it would be wise for the Packers to bolster the defensive line sooner rather than later.

Sportsnaut’s Matt Johnson predicts general manager Brian Gutekunst will add to the defensive line by putting together a trade for Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Calais Campbell.

Johnsion has Green Bay sending a 2026 fourth-round pick to Arizona for Campbell.

“By happenstance, the Green Bay Packers face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Sunday’s look could provide Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst with a chance to get a first-hand look at a veteran interior defender who could make a real impact for this defense,” Johnson wrote.

“Carrying just a $6 million cap hit, he’d be an outstanding half-season addition to the Packers’ defensive line,” Johnson added.

Campbell is destined for Canton, as the 39-year-old has been a consistent starter for the entirety of his 18-year career and is still one of the better interior defensive linemen in the NFL. Through six games in 2025, Campbell has tallied three sacks and 16 quarterback pressures with ten defensive stops.

Adding a savvy veteran defender like Campbell in the middle of the season would be an excellent move by the Packers, who also have a glaring need at defensive tackle. Additionally, a Day 3 pick should be enough to acquire Campbell in a trade, and the six-time Pro Bowler is also on a one-year deal, meaning there is nearly zero financial risk.

Green Bay is already one of the top contenders in the NFC, but Matt LaFleur’s squad could be even better with Campbell rushing the passer.
