Report: Broncos signing special teams ace off Ravens' practice squad

Perhaps this will help the Denver Broncos stabilize their special teams units.

The Broncos are signing safety and special teams ace J.T. Gray off the Baltimore Ravens‘ practice squad, according to a report from Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football (via Saints Wire).

Gray will now reunite with Denver coach Sean Payton and special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi, whom he played under from 2018-2021 and 2019-2024, respectively, during his time with the New Orleans Saints.

Gray (6-0, 202 pounds) spent the first seven years of his career in New Orleans, earning a Pro Bowl nod and first-team All-Pro selection as a special teamer in 2021. He also earned second-team All-Pro honors following the 2019 and 2024 seasons. After missing most of training camp and preseason with a hamstring injury this summer, Gray is presumably healthy now.

The Broncos will have to make a corresponding move to make room for Gray on the 53-man roster. Stay tuned — we should learn more when Gray’s signing becomes official.
