The nine African teams that have qualified are: Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cape Verde, and South Africa.
One of the standout moments of these qualifiers is Cape Verde’s historic participation in a World Cupโthe first time in the country’s historyโafter finishing ahead of Cameroon at the top of Group D.
Meanwhile, four teams that finished second in their groups will contest a continental playoff in Morocco next month: Gabon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, and Nigeria. They will battle for an additional berth in the intercontinental playoff and a potential spot at the 2026 World Cup.
