After two games in the 2025 National League Championship Series, the Milwaukee Brewers offense has two runs, five hits and just a single at-bat with a runner in scoring position.
Those ugly numbers are a cold recipie for a pair of losses at home in the NLCS
Tack on the fact that the opposing starting pitchers have pitched 17 of a possible 18 innings and it’s understandable that Brewers fans on social media have gone from feeling euphoric after defeating the rival Chicago Cubs to having a sudden case of Los Angeles Dodgers blues.
The Brewers had the best record and the best run differential in baseball during the regular season and swept the Dodgers 6-0 in the regular season, but suddenly the Dodgers look very unstoppable. Their best-you-can-buy starting rotation has looked elite in the first two games in the series. Meanwhile the Brewers’ often stellar bullpen is starting to look more than a little fatigued.
More: When was the last time a playoff team rallied back to win a seven-game series after going down, 2-0?
However, the Brewers have also managed just one run in each of first two games and that’s obviously not enough offense to defeat a team has talented and deep as the Dodgers
Brewers manager Pat Murphy pointed out after the game that many were counting the Brewers out ofter they lost both games at American Family Field, but noted in his postgame news conference that the Brewers had won at least four games in a row 10 times this season.
So, Brewers in 6?
Here’s a bit of small-market frustration vented on social media:

The Brewers made a living off small ball, not chasing, working walks and putting balls in play
The dodgers series hits and they immediately stop doing any of that
Completely abandoned what got em here
It’s very frustrating

This sucks man. We’re just so over matched. Like I don’t see a point anymore where I get invested in the Brewers until they implement a salary cap. Just sucks 💔

Other than pitching and hitting the Brewers have been just as good as the Dodgers.

Small market teams like the Brewers can’t afford to pay somebody like Max Muncy the hefty contract of 2 years, $24 million. This is an unfair advantage to teams like the Dodgers

The Dodgers are just rolling through the Brewers and the Phillies, who had the two best records in baseball.
The Brewers have scored a total of 2 runs losing both games at home to LA.
