Four Packers sit out during Oct. 15 practice ahead of Week 7 game vs the Cardinals

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers had four players sit out during their Oct. 15 practice.

The Packers will be seeking their first road win of the season when they face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Here’s who did and didn’t practice for the Packers:

Zach Tom injury update

The Packers’ starting right tackle didn’t participate in practice.

He played all 61 snaps on offense during the team’s Week 7 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals but admitted to reporters he was feeling sore after the game.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Tom didn’t suffer any setbacks from his oblique injury he sustained in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions.

“I did talk to him this morning, and he’s feeling better,” LaFleur said during his Oct. 15 pre-practice news conference.

Devonte Wyatt injury update

The defensive tackle didn’t participate in team activities.

He’s been out of action since he suffered a knee injury during the team’s Week 4 road game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Brandon McManus injury update

The veteran kicker was ruled out of the Bengals game after he injured his quad during the team’s Oct. 8 practice.

He usually kicks during the Wednesday and Friday practices, but he didn’t kick Oct. 15.

Newly signed kicker Lucas Havrisik was kicking for the team, during the portion of practice open to the media.

Lukas Van Ness injury update

The defensive end dropped out of the Bengals game due to a foot injury after picking up the team’s only sack in the game and missed the second half.

LaFleur said during his Oct. 13 news conference that Van Ness avoided any major injury.

“We definitely avoided something serious, but how long he’ll be out remains to be seen,” LaFleur said.

Anthony Belton injury update

The rookie tackle made his return to practice for the first time since he injured his ankle the week of the Dallas game.

Dontayvion Wicks injury update

The receiver dropped out of action against the Bengals due to an ankle injury.

He was present and participated in team activities.

Javon Bullard injury update

The second-year safety left the field early in the third quarter against the Bengals and went into the medical tent to be evaluated for a concussion.

LaFleur said Bullard went through the evaluation and passed.

He was participating in practice.

Christian Watson injury update

The Packers receiver − who’s recovering from an ACL tear he suffered at the end of last regular season − was practicing as he begins his second week of his three-week practice window.
