The Los Angeles Rams suffered their second loss of the season on Sunday, but even worse, wide receiver Puka Nacua suffered an ankle injury that knocked him out for most of the game and could cost him more time.
With the Rams playing in London in Week 7, they’ve decided not to travel back to the West Coast and instead will practice at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles. Their first practice session is on Wednesday afternoon, and head coach Sean McVay addressed the media ahead of the work on the field.
While providing injury updates, McVay shared that Nacua won’t be practicing on Wednesday as he rehabs from the ankle injury he suffered against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
There are still two more sessions before the Rams travel across the pond for their game, so there’s a chance that Nacua is cleared to go before then, but this isn’t a good sign to start the week.
Through six games this year, Nacua has caught a league-leading 54 passes for 616 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 52 yards and a score. If he can’t go, Davante Adams will be the team’s top receiver with Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith rounding out the group.
Los Angeles also has undrafted rookies Tru Edwards and Brennan Presley on the practice squad that they could call up if they deem it necessary.
