Report: Parts of Jets locker room prefer Tyrod Taylor over Justin Fields

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields is fresh off a horrid game in Week 6.

The Jets (0-6) still do not have a win this season after losing 13-11 to the Denver Broncos (4-2) in London.

While New York’s defense only just put up a strong effort against the Broncos, their first of 2025, the offense has varied as well… the offense has had more lows than highs at this point.

A lot of that has to do with quarterback Justin Fields.

Fields put up the worst net passing yards number in Jets history against Denver, he had -10 total net yards.

The report is timely because of that, but there has been a suggestion that players in New York’s locker room prefer backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor over Fields… and some have since training camp according to SportsNet New York:

Fields finished just 9-for-17 passing for 45 yards against Denver. He had 31 yards rushing as well.

The game feels like it would have been a win if Fields was pulled for Taylor… or closer to one.

But head coach Aaron Glenn made it clear the Fields is staying in right now.

Next up is the Carolina Panthers (3-3) back at MetLife Stadium. They’ve won three of their past four games.
