The Los Angeles Chargers are a team that is being discussed as much, if not more than any, ahead of this year’s trade deadline. The team is openly shopping for a running back amid injuries to Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton.
But the Chargers could be in the market for an offensive tackle or another playmaker for Justin Herbert to work with, particularly at tight end.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report put together a big board of trade possibilities entering Week 7 and he has the Chargers connected to three of them. Knox feels the Chargers could be in on these three players, and he includes what each player could be obtained for.
David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns for a 2026 third-round pick
The Browns have already made a couple of trades in recent weeks, shipping quarterback Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals and sending cornerback Greg Newsome to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They likely don’t want to gut their roster, but a third-round pick in exchange for Njoku could be enticing.
The Chargers could open up the offense further with an athletic tight end like Njoku. Rookie Oronde Gadsden is coming around, but Njoku would give Justin Herbert more of a win-now option.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints for a 2026 fourth-round pick
Alvin Kamara’s name continues to come up in trade talks, despite numerous reports stating he does not want to be traded. It would obviously be an exciting move for him to come to L.A., but if the Chargers do trade for a running back, it’s likely to be closer to a name on this list rather than a blockbuster move like adding Kamara would be.
Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens for a 2026 fifth-round pick
The idea here would be similar to the one to trade for Njoku, though this one would be more likely due to the Harbaugh connection between these two teams. The Chargers and Ravens have already completed one trade this season and Andrews’ name has been connected in rumors to the Chargers since the offseason.
This year’s trade deadline falls on Tuesday, November 4. The Chargers will be searching around for a deal as a buyer unless disaster strikes between now and then. But the team is currently at the top of the AFC West standings and adding a player or two through trade to help offset all of the injuries the team has suffered this season should be a strong consideration in the mind of general manager Joe Hortiz.
