No. 4 Texas A&M (6-0, 3-0 SEC) will face Arkansas (2-4, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, which will be the first trip to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium since 2013. For the Aggies, this will be the second road trip and the first in the SEC, following their victory over Notre Dame in South Bend earlier this season.
Knowing the rainy weather forecast, both teams have prepared for inclement conditions in practice this week, and head coach Mike Elko is aware that if the field is wet, running the ball with Rueben Owens, Amari Daniels, and freshman Jamarion Morrow will be key to avoiding mistakes and controlling the clock, if the Aggies’ offensive line continues to dominate in the trenches.
However, Texas A&M’s defense will be the focus, going against senior Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green, who has given the Aggies fits going back to last season’s matchup. Still, A&M’s pass rush has become one of the better units in the country, producing 21 sacks in six games, averaging nearly three sacks per contest.
Green will look to connect with star transfer WR O’Mega Blake on nearly every drop-back, and on the other side, Texas A&M starting quarterback Marcel Reed will continue to target his elite transfer wide receiver duo, knowing that KC Concpecion and Mario Craver will find space against Arkansas‘s porous secondary.
