Emeka Egbuka has been the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ leading receiver through the first six weeks of the season with Mike Evans sidelined. However, the rookie is banged up just as the team was set to return their top dog and finally give Baker Mayfield a full arsenal of weapons to work with.
Egbuka is questionable for Monday night’s game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury he suffered in last week’s win over the 49ers. However, after missing practice Thursday and Friday, he was able to return in a limited capacity Saturday, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 23-year-old has a real shot to play.
He’s considered a game-time decision, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
Buccaneers WRs Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka both are listed as questionable for Monday night’s game in Detroit.
Evans is likely to play and Egbuka, in the words of a source, “has a real chance to play” despite his hamstring injury. It’s a low-grade hamstring, making it possible. pic.twitter.com/OB6czrSXDB

Should I start Emeka Egbuka in fantasy?
It would be incredibly risky to wait until Monday to make a decision on whether to start Egbuka, which is the earliest we’ll likely find out about his status. So, I would not suggest starting him if you have another good option to play at wide receiver. If not, Egbuka will have an opportunity to make splash plays if he’s able to go Monday. But if he’s ruled out, you’ll be stuck trying to pick up someone like Sterling Shepard who won’t have the same ceiling.
