NASCAR Talladega race results: Chase Briscoe is winner, plus full leaderboard

Chase Briscoe got his first win on a superspeedway on Oct. 19 after he regained the lead on the final lap in the NASCAR Talladega race in the middle of the Round of 8 of the Cup Series playoffs.

Briscoe led 16 laps and benefited from some help from Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Ty Gibbs to take the lead from Bubba Wallace on the final turn in the YellaWood 500.

Briscoe, who is in his first year with Joe Gibbs Racing, joined teammate Denny Hamlin in securing a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff championship in Phoenix on Nov. 2. Hamlin won on Oct. 12 at Las Vegas.

Todd Gilliland, Ty Gibbs, and Bubba Wallace finished in that order three-wide behind Briscoe.

Briscoe was coming off a fourth-place finish at Las Vegas. He also finished fourth in the playoffs at Kansas, second at World Wide Technology Raceway and won at Darlington.
