Demoted? Humbled Bo Nickal takes UFC 322 ‘Prelims’ backseat in favor of Lightweight banger

Bo Goes … to the undercard.

The mega-stacked UFC 322 pay-per-view (PPV) is just 11 days away, and during last weekend’s broadcast, the promotion revealed its finalized fight card — and to everyone’s surprise, three-time NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and Middleweight super prospect Bo Nickal has been bumped from the main card to the “Prelims.”

Replacing Nickal on the PPV lineup — which takes place inside the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City — is an explosive Lightweight matchup between Beneil Dariush and Benoit Saint-Denis, which should deliver all-action chaos for as long as it lasts.

Don’t expect Nickal to be too bothered by the switch. Just a few weeks ago, the 29-year-old admitted he doesn’t care where he’s placed on the card anymore, saying he’s been “humbled” by the ups and downs of his early UFC run.

Nickal (7-1) will take on credentialed Brazilian jiu-jitsu championRodolfo Vieira in a crucial Middleweight clash. The former Penn State wrestling star is coming off the first loss of his professional career — a second-round technical knockout (TKO) defeat to Reinier de Ridder (watch highlights) — and is looking to bounce back against his third straight elite grappler inside the Octagon.
