The NFL Trading Deadline is finally here. Well, it’s actually later today at 4 p.m. And, of course, numerous trades have gone down around the league, including the Miami Dolphins sending edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick.
Will any more Dolphins be shipped out today? Among those who could be on the trading block are fellow edge rusher Bradley Chubb, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Would Miami even consider trading quarterback Tua Tagovailoa? Yeah, let’s not hold our breath on that one even if Tua’s future has been muddied by the events of the past week.

Interim Dolphins General Manager Champ Kelly replaced the fired Chris Grier for this reason – making trades to stockpile draft picks for 2026.
Will Minkah Fitzpatrick be dealt to a contender?
Minkah Fitzpatrick began his career in Miami, played in Pittsburgh for six seasons and returned to the Dolphins in 2025 as part of the trade that sent cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to the Steelers.
Before the season, the Dolphins and Fitzpatrick agreed to a two-year deal that guaranteed him about $17.5 million this season while giving the club $11 million in salary cap space. But the veteran safety has to be frustrated and suffering deja vu in that Miami is no better today than when he left in 2019 as the teardown of the roster was beginning.
So, yes, he probably would welcome a trade to a contender.
