The Carolina Panthers‘ newly-established bell-cow back appears to be banged up at the beginning of Week 10.
Running back Rico Dowdle has been listed as a non-participant for Wednesday’s practice due to a quadriceps injury. The sixth-year rusher was seen warming up with the team at the start of the session, but proceeded to work off to the side with trainers.
Dowdle recorded 25 carries in this past Sunday’s 16-13 win over the Green Bay Packers. He turned that workload into 130 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Center Cade Mays (ankle/knee) and rookie outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen (ankle), meanwhile, returned to the practice field after missing the Week 9 upset at Lambeau Field. Both were noted as full participants on the afternoon.
Here is the Panthers’ official injury report from today:
- RB Rico Dowdle (Quadriceps) | Wednesday: DNP

- S Lathan Ransom (Illness) | Wednesday: Limited
- G Damien Lewis (Oblique) | Wednesday: Full
