The Houston Texans lost C.J. Stroud during the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion.
Stroud exited the contest after hitting his head hard on the turf following a play. It was immediately clear that Stroud was shaken up and, sure enough, he was diagnosed with a concussion that led to him missing the rest of the game.
Of course, that leaves Stroud’s status for the Week 10 game up in the air, but the Texans have apparently already made a decision on the signal-caller.
Will C.J. Stroud play in Week 10?
No, Stroud will not suit up for the Texans in Week 10, head coach DeMeco Ryans announced on Wednesday.
“Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said QB CJ Stroud “will be out” this week versus the Jaguars as he remains in concussion protocol,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter relayed.
This is obviously a huge blow to the Texans’ offense, which is troubling for any fantasy owners who have Houston players on their roster.
Who is C.J. Stroud’s handcuff?
That would be Davis Mills, who entered the game against the Broncos after Stroud’s exit.
Davis is a quality backup, but he’s a backup for a reason. He is a notable downgrade from the former Offensive Rookie of the Year.
