Through 10 weeks of the 2025 college football season, one thing is clear with the latest TV ratings. The SEC remains king with eight of the top ten teams.
According to Nielsen Big Data + Panel metrics provided by On3, all 10 games from Week 10 ranked among the most-watched live sports telecasts of the week, a list that included NFL games and the World Series. In the broader season-long rankings, SEC programs occupy seven of the 10 most-watched slots through Week 10, reinforcing the league’s dominance.
Alabama leads the nation in average viewership at 7.91 million, with its season opener against Florida State ranking among the most-watched games of the year. Georgia follows closely at 7.63 million, fueled by top matchups against Tennessee and Florida. The Vols ranked third at 7.03 million, maintaining strong national interest despite midseason losses.
Texas was fourth (6.48 million) with hype around Arch Manning and the Horn returning after a shaky start.
Beyond the SEC, Ohio State (6.26 million) round out the top five, driven by key network windows on FOX, including the opener with Texas.

ABC and ESPN continue to drive college football’s ratings surge, airing eight of the 10 most-watched games so far this season. However, a developing carriage dispute between Disney and YouTube TV threatens that momentum, with subscribers facing blackouts on ABC and ESPN for a second straight weekend.
Even amid that uncertainty, the SEC’s national pull remains unrivaled. As the playoff race hits the home stretch, along with the holiday season coming, ratings with get another boost.
