South Africa’s qualification scenarios for the round of 16 at the U17 World Cup

South Africa is well on its way to reaching the round of 16 at the U17 World Cup.

The Amajimbos currently sit second in their group with 4 points, thanks to their victory over Bolivia (3-1) and a draw against Qatar (1-1).

Like Tunisia and Senegal, South Africa could punch their ticket to the next round of the U17 World Cup through three possible scenarios:

• A win over Italy would lift their tally to seven points and secure top spot in their group.

• A draw against Italy would take them to five points, allowing them to hold on to second place in the group.

• Even a defeat to Italy could see them finish the group stage in second or third place.
