Commanding Win by Nebraska Volleyball Over #22 Minnesota

Nebraska 3 vs Minnesota 0 – 25-15, 25-21, 25-20

Opposing teams cannot key in on one, two or even just three players when they prepare for the Huskers; seven different players earned kills today. That type of distribution and spread of a volleyball offense really just makes every single player better as each attempt is against a lessor formed block and gives the Husker attacker a better look and chance at terminating the ball.

Taylor Landfair was a Minnesota Gopher for three seasons from 2020-23. She said she liked playing in Maturi Pavilion when she was a Gopher and she clearly still likes playing there as a Husker. Landfair had a stellar afternoon with 11 kills on 20 swings and no errors. Landfair hit .550 today!

Andi Jackson continued her impressive performance for the season. Today, Jackson had 15 kills on 21 swings to hit .619. Not many middles lead their team in kills on any given night. Jackson is not only able to kill the ball, but she is able to do it without many errors. Middles often make errors simply because the speed in which the ball is set to them, but not Jackson, she is extremely efficient.

Fellow middle, Rebekah Allick had a nice run of kills during set three. She ended the afternoon with 10 kills on 14 swings for a .714 hitting percentage. Allick led all players in her hitter percentage. As a team Nebraska hit for a very high efficiency at .434.

Libero, Laney Choboy led all players with 15 digs but had a tough serve receive passing afternoon. Minnesota is a good serving team and Choboy was clearly their target as they served to her repeatedly. Coach Dani Busboom Kelly is on record as saying that she is not concerned with any passing difficulties as long as the offense is efficient. Okay Coach!

Next, Nebraska travels to Los Angeles to play UCLA. The match is at 8 pm CT on Big Ten Network.
