The Kentucky Wildcats captured their second win of the season over Valparaiso Friday night inside Rupp Arena, 107-59. Head coach Mark Pope spoke to the media after the Wildcats’ commanding victory and gave an interesting update to end his postgame radio show with Tom Leach.
Coach Pope mentioned that he has been assigned jury duty that will start on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 PM ET. He also added that he will have to call in every single day to see if he gets assigned to a case.
“I actually got a notice that I’ve got to go do jury duty. So it’s really true. I apparently have to call in starting tomorrow (Saturday) every day at 4:30 PM (ET) to see if I get assigned to jury duty, which is semi-inconvenient,” said Pope. “But I do love this Commonwealth and I love this state and I want to do my part, so we’ll see how this goes.”
Coach Pope will spend his weekend reviewing film and calling the courthouse to see if he’s needed for jury duty in Lexington.
The Wildcats will prepare for one of their biggest tests of the season coming up on Tuesday. They will travel down the road to face the No. 11-ranked Louisville Cardinals. The game is set for an 8 PM ET tip-off on ESPN at KFC Yum! Center.
