Michigan State came into the weekend as the No. 1 team in all of college hockey, but another massive test was ahead for the Spartans, the No. 3 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.
The first conference series of the year for MSU, they showed up and showed out, sweeping their fellow top ranked foes after a 2-1 (OT) win on Friday nigh and a dominating 5-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
Following Saturday afternoon’s win, head coach Adam Nightingale spoke to the media about the series. Nightingale talked about the dominating performance his team put on, while addressing defending Gavin McKenna and what is ahead for his team.
