Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong.

According to Ben Jacobs on GMS, Manchester United are among multiple Premier League clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old Cameroon International. The player has now fuelled speculation surrounding his future by claiming that he enjoys playing alongside the Manchester United summer signing, Bryan Mbeumo.

He also labelled Manchester United as a very good team. It is a secret that the Red Devils need more cutting-edge in the final third, and having another reliable striker would be ideal. The 22-year-old has made his mark in La Liga, and he could be well-suited to the Premier League as well. He has the physicality and technical attributes for English football.

“Manchester United is a very good team,” revealed Eyong. “I used to love Robin Van Persie. He had everything – talent, style and confidence. And Wayne Rooney was another world-class striker.
“Bryan is also a fantastic player. He’s a fantastic player. I am lucky to play and train alongside him for Cameroon. I think he’s going to help me a lot, on and off the pitch. There are some parallels in our games, but we can play together and compliment each other. We can assist each other. Our relationship is getting stronger every day.”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are encouraged by his comments, and they decide to make a move for Eyong at the end of the season. Mbeumo might also be able to play a key role in convincing the player to move to Old Trafford. It would be a huge opportunity in his career, and he would get to test himself at a higher level.

Manchester United have done well to groom young players, and they could play a key role in his development.
