Jaylen Brown has started the 2025-26 NBA season in strong fashion. The Boston Celtics forward has scored 30 or more points in five of his last six outings and is averaging 28.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists on 53.5% shooting from the field and 36.7% from deep.
Following the Achilles tendon injury to Jayson Tatum, Brown has shifted into a bigger role for Joe Mazulla’s roster this season. As such, we’ve seen some dominant scoring production from the All-Star forward along with some stellar defensive work as the primary point-of-attack defender. Unfortunately for Boston, Brown’s impressive showings haven’t stopped them from going 4-6 to begin the basketball year, as they continue to develop and find their identity.
Nevertheless, Brown is clearly proving his doubters wrong. In a recent episode of the “How ‘Bout Them Celtics?” podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance discussed Brown’s early-season performances and how they’ve likely quietened his doubters, especially those who were calling for him to be traded throughout the summer.
