WATCH: Bears rally around Caleb Williams in must-see mic’d up vs. Giants

For the second week in a row, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was in position to win a football game at the end of the fourth quarter. And for the second week in a row, he delivered. Williams was responsible for the two fourth-quarter touchdowns to give the Bears a 24-20 win over the New York Giants, getting things done with his arm and his legs.

Williams showed plenty of poise before, during, and after those two drives. That was evident thanks to NFL Films, who captured the sequence while Williams was mic’d up. The footage also showed the belief Williams’ coaches and teammates have in him to lead the Bears to victory.

Following Williams’ touchdown pass to wide receiver Rome Odunze, backup quarterback Case Keenum was in his ear to hype him up. “Hey, catch your breath. You’re about to go win this game for us,” Keenum said as Williams made his way to the sidelines. The veteran didn’t stop there as Williams listened on the bench.

“You’re dealing right now, bro. I freaking love it. Go get a dirty one, rally the boys. Let’s go, man. Hey, [the defense] is about to make a stop for you right now. You’re going to go win us this game.”

Before the final drive, Williams gathered the entire offense to deliver a rallying cry. “Just do your job,” he said. “I’ll just throw it till you catch it, and just run and protect it. O-Line: Blow these [expletive] off the ball. Here we go.” Williams proceeded to call his own number by running a keeper down the sideline for the go-ahead score.

As he exited the field again while nodding his head to the fans, his teammates heaped praise upon him for delivering another clutch drive. “Ice in his veins!” yelled one person. “Ice man!” “You him,” and other compliments came his way following his fourth game-winning drive of the season. Head coach Ben Johnson sang a similar tune after the game. “He’s got ice in his veins now,” he said to the team while delivering a game ball as another person yelled “Greatness!” from the background. “And if you don’t believe it now, you just wait, man. The best is yet to come, 18.”

Williams’ teammates have sung his praises all year dating back to offseason workouts, but it’s different when you see the reactions on the field following big plays. This is his team, and the roster has bought into what he brings to the table. Williams is leading them on and off the field, and the team has his back no matter what.
