Watch: Joe Burrow returns to practice field for first time since 21-day period start

The Cincinnati Bengalsshared video of injured starting quarterback Joe Burrow walking onto the field at the team’s IEL Indoor Practice Facility.

The Bengals announced earlier that they started a 21-day period during which Burrow may begin limited practice with the team without counting against the 53-player active roster.

Burrow is eligible to be activated to the roster during the 21-day period.

“I think he’s ready for this as part of the recovery, to come back on a limited basis and progress it on the field with the players,” Bengals head coach Taylor told reporters. “I think he’s at a good point. … This is just Day 1. We’ll start with Day 1. Just get out there and at least throw routes to the receivers and then start progressing that way. So you’ve got this great opportunity for these next couple weeks for him to start inching his way forward and get ready to see when he can play for us.”

Burrow has been tossing on the sideline during the Bengals’ past two games. He hasn’t been wearing the walking boot he previously wore.
