Going into Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, how bad are the Houston Texans? Even with a 4-5 record, not every team is built the same because of scheduling and injuries.
That’s not Houston’s case, which comes in with a -2.6 Football Power Index (FPI) rating from ESPN, good enough for 16th overall in the NFL. Heading into Week 11, the Texans are among the top half of teams, especially after a promising 19-point comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at NRG Stadium.
The Tennessee Titans, fresh off a bye week, will play host to the Texans this week for a noon kick at Nissan Stadium. Sitting at 1-8, the projected favorites for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft AFC South squad is ranked 31st with a -9.2 rating, just .8 points higher than the Cleveland Browns
FPI is “a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season,” according to ESPN.com.
The Texans recently closed out their three-game homestand, posting a 2-1 record with wins over San Francisco and Jacksonville. If planning on getting back into the playoff picture, Houston is in win-now mode for the remainder of the regular season, knowing a loss could be the reason setbacks occur after back-to-back 10-win campaigns.
Here’s a look at how the league’s 32 teams stack up based on FPI going into Week 11.
