Sunday night marked the worst game of the season for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In fact, it marked the worst game of Rodgers’ career from a statistical standpoint. Rodgers downplayed the poor performance after the blowout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers but it was clear to everyone watching that Rodgers looked scared in the pocket and was the single biggest factor in the loss.
Former NFL head coach Herm Edwards summed up Rodgers’ performance better than any other NFL analyst or pundit could do it. “The quarterback looked old,” Edwards said in reference to Rodgers. Edwards went on to say it was clear Rodgers didn’t want to get hit and when the Chargers hit him early, he knew it was going to be a long day for the future Hall of Famer.

Even head coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t willing to write off Rodgers performance as just an off night but he was confident that Rodgers will come back and play better football. Pittsburgh is currently 5-4 and clinging to a one-game lead in the AFC North with eight games left to play.
