Pac-12 announces TV deal with USA Sports through 2030-31

The Pac-12 has finalized its television contract for the near future.

The rebuilt conference announced Thursday that it had agreed to a deal with USA to televise 22 football games a year through the 2030 season. USA will become the biggest TV partner of the league, as it will televise games along with CBS Sports Network, the CW and CBS.

The two-team Pac-12 of Oregon State and Washington State is adding six teams next season. Five of those teams — Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State — are coming from the Mountain West while Texas State arrives from the Sun Belt.

The conference proudly noted that all of its teams’ home football games will be available on either broadcast or cable/satellite stations for the next five years. CBS will broadcast two regular-season games along with the Pac-12 title game while USA will have 22 regular-season games.

“The new Pac-12 is where tradition meets transformation — a unique opportunity in the rapidly-evolving college sports landscape that strongly aligns with the go-forward vision of USA Sports,” Pac-12 commissioner Teresa Gould said in a statement. “We are thrilled to launch this partnership with the USA Sports team and leverage shared vision to build something unique and special.”

USA Sports is the new sports department of Versant, the cable-channel company that was recently spun off from Comcast. USA will also broadcast 50 men’s basketball games along with up to 10 women’s basketball games per season. The network will televise every game of the men’s Pac-12 basketball tournament before CBS broadcasts the conference championship game.
