The waiver wire is slim pickings at this point of the year, particularly under our ownership standards. We have had some stellar standouts in our previous waiver wire adds, from Rico Dowdle to Sam Darnold, Harold Fannin Jr., and more recently with Joe Flacco, Alec Pierce and Juwan Johnson.
For the following waiver wire adds, the player has to be owned by 60% of teams or less, and this week we go with one player at quarterback and one at each flex-position spot to add if you’re in a pinch ahead of your Week 10 matchup and potentially going forward.
Quarterback
Marcus Mariota, Commanders: Fantasy managers in need of a quarterback at this point may be in some trouble. However, Marcus Mariota is a pretty nice option if the need is there.
Mariota has scored over 20 fantasy points in three of his four starts. The Oregon product has a savory matchup in Week 11 at Miami in Madrid, coming off completing 16 of 22 passes for 213 yards and a pair of scores against the Lions last week.
Running back
Chris Rodriguez Jr., Commanders: Many thought the Commanders would be Croskey-Merritt’s backfield. However, Rodriguez Jr. is making it more of a shared situation. Rodriguez has found the end zone in back-to-back weeks now, while Croskey-Merritt has struggled to gain traction.
While Rodriguez might not have the ceiling of many running backs, he does appear to be solidified in getting around 10 touches a game. He only had six carries last week before exiting with injury, but was a full practice participant on Wednesday. In Week 10, he had 12 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. While he may not be exciting from a fantasy perspective, the workload is on the rise.
Wide receiver
Keon Coleman, Bills: Overall, it’s been a bit of a disappointing 2025 season for Coleman. Many fantasy managers could be out on the wideout. However, he’s one of the most productive WRs available on the waiver wire currently. Also, it would be hard to find one with more upside at this point.
Coleman had a bounce-back week despite catching just three of his eight targets in Week 10 for 46 yards and his third touchdown of the year. The 6-foot, 4-inch Coleman has compiled 32 catches for 330 yards. With Dalton Kincaid, one of Josh Allen‘s top targets, likely out for at least a week, Coleman could have some nice games down the stretch.
Tight end
Pat Freiermuth, Steelers: The Steelers’ tight end hasn’t been particularly good this year. But Freiermuth did have a pretty remarkable matchup the first go-round against the woeful Bengals defense. In a Week 7 matchup, Freiermuth had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
For the season, Freiermuth has just 22 catches for 260 yards and three touchdowns. While this would basically be a one-week wonder, if you need a streamer, take a flier on Freiermuth.
