Ja’Marr Chase has funny description for Steelers star before Week 11

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has shared plenty of thoughts over the years on Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., to say the least.

Ahead of the Bengals’ Week 11 rematch with the Steelers, the topic naturally came up again.

This time? Chase essentially had a fun little nickname for Porter, as captured by Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

“Chase calls Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. “handsy,” and Porter leads the Steelers with six penalties. Two were pass interference calls against the Bengals, one against Chase and the other against Higgins. No one has given up more to wide receivers than the Steelers’ 190 yards per game …”

Last time Chase saw the Steelers a few weeks ago, he caught 16 of 23 targets from Joe Flacco, turning the work into 161 yards and a score. And yes, the Steelers defense caught some penalty flags along the way.

It’s fitting, though, really that Chase and Porter play such a physical brand of football on the boundary, given the background between these two teams in the AFC North.

While not exactly bulletin-board material, a little jab here and there between Chase and the Steelers has become commonplace and part of the fun of the rivalry.
