The Carolina Panthers‘ starting offensive line will have a somewhat surprising look in Week 11.
As announced by head coach Dave Canales this afternoon, Chandler Zavala is expected to get the nod at right guard against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He’ll take over for eighth-year veteran Austin Corbett, who manned the position in last week’s 17-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Corbett has started in five of his six outings this season, where he’s also lined up at left guard and center. His first 21 starts as a Panther, after signing a three-year deal with the team in 2022, came as a right guard.
Zavala, the right guard for Week 9’s 16-13 upset over the Green Bay Packers, is now set to return after missing out on Week 10 with a knee injury. He’s also been dealing with an elbow issue, but was listed as a full participant in practice on Friday with no injury designation entering the weekend.
Per Pro Football Focus, the 2023 fourth-round pick has not performed particularly well in 2025—as he’s amassed a 41.3 overall offensive grade, a 22.0 pass-blocking grade and a 55.5 run-blocking grade. Corbett, meanwhile, has earned marks of 66.7, 59.6 and 66.9 in those categories, respectively.
According to Canales, Corbett will be available off the bench.
