Watch: Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson scores first NFL receiving TD

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson scored the first receiving touchdown of his career on Thursday night against the New York Jets.

The touchdown came off a six-yard pass from the arm of Drake Maye. It marked the third time Henderson found the end zone after he had rushed for two touchdowns earlier in the game. The receiving touchdown finished a six-play, 69-yard drive and took 3:30 off the clock.

It extended the Patriots’ lead to 21-7 following the extra point.

It was another solid game for Henderson, who has firmly entrenched himself in Patriots history. He is the second Patriots running back with five touchdowns in two games, including the playoffs. Sony Michel was the first in 2018.

Henderson has been electric when given opportunities with the ball in his hands. Throughout the season, fans have wondered why the team hasn’t handed the reins over to the rookie over Rhamondre Stevenson. With every passing Henderson performance, people might be closer to getting their wish.
