CORONA, California, Nov. 14 — Centennial gets on the board first, and leads 7-0.

Centennial finally broke through in the regular season, beating Mater Dei, 43-36, on September 12 to end a drought in the series that stretched back a decade.
Now the Huskies head to the season hoping to break through in the playoffs to win a California state championship, and possibly, a national title to go with it. They’ll start their journey Friday night against Servite, and they’ll have to be careful not to get caught looking ahead.
That’s because a potential rematch with the Mater Dei looms in the second round if the Monarchs take care of business against Mission Viejo.
It’s all going down in the quarterfinals of California’s CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
