Torch passed? Ronda Rousey sends message to shocked Zhang Weili ahead of UFC 322: ‘You’re representing the women in this sport’

Zhang Weili is entering an ultra-important women’s superfight against Valentina Shevchenko later tonight (Sat., Nov. 15, 2025) at UFC 322 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, but at least she’ll have the support of UFC trailblazer Ronda Rousey.

Zhang, who relinquished her UFC women’s strawweight title to move up to 125 pounds, has a really good chance to overthrow Shevchenko this weekend and become the next female fighter to win UFC titles in two different divisions. Many MMA enthusiasts already consider Weili one of the best fighters in women’s MMA history, but taking out “Bullet” would be a huge feather in her cap.

Ahead of her UFC 322 co-main event bid, Weili has received some words of praise from none other than Rousey. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion has been catching some flack recently for things she has said about Khabib Nurmagomedov and Joe Rogan, but this time around “Rowdy” only offered support. In fact, Rousey reminded Zhang that she is representing all women in the sport and hopes she goes out this weekend to “steal the show.”

Check it out below:

“I just wanted to say best of luck to you this weekend,” said Rousey. “You’re representing the women in this sport, and all the women that will come after you.”

“None of them actually give a shit whether or not you or Valentina win. What they actually care about is that you go out there and you prove to everyone watching and everyone else on that card that you are a main event attraction and you are the most exciting fight.

“You go out there and you steal the show and make sure everybody remembers your name.”
