Bengals' Zac Taylor had oddly quick postgame interview after loss

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor didn’t have much to say after the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That’s not a knock on Taylor, either, just an observation. In his traditional postgame presser, the whole postgame media session hardly went over the six-minute mark

And to Taylor’s credit, there’s not much to say in the heat of the moment at this point. The Bengals just fell to 3-7 and effectively had the season ended.

That, just days after getting the news that Joe Burrow was back at practice and targeting a hopeful Thanksgiving return.

“Again, I don’t think we were ever in a tremendous rhythm in any facet,” Taylor said of the Bengals’ offensive struggles. “And you have to credit them. They had a great plan. They played well. At times, we found some momentum and just it wasn’t enough of that to go out and score enough points to win the game.”

Otherwise, what else is there to say? The Joe Flacco-led offense came back to Earth on the road. Taylor’s struggles after a bye week continued. And while the defense showed some encouraging flashes, it otherwise showed the bad tackling, angles, pursuits and overall coordination that makes it one of the NFL’s worst.

The Bengals and Taylor will have more to say in the coming week, but what’s interesting now is if it’s more of the same coachspeak and business as usual, or an upheaval after poor results.
