For the fifth time this season, the Chicago Bears engineered a fourth-quarter comeback as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 19-17, on a game-winning field goal to improve to 7-3 on the year.
Head coach Ben Johnson has the team believing in one another and playing until the final seconds tick off the clock, resulting in their late-game wins that now see them sitting atop the NFC North division at the end of Week 11. Af6er the game, wide receiver DJ Moore summed up this Bears team with one word.
“Resilient,” Moore said, via Marquee Sports Network. “We’re always in the fight and never looking back at the negatives that went on in the game, just have to finish them.”
There are still negatives for the Bears to work out on the field, whether it’s the offensive procedure penalties, struggles in the red zone or the defense giving up plenty of points, the team has work to clean up. Johnson spoke to that in the locker room after the win on Sunday, saying he’s excited to watch the game tape with his team and pondered what they’ll look like once they fix their mistakes.
With five fourth-quarter comebacks to their name already this season, even with all the mistakes and flaws they’ve had, the Bears have proven to be one of the NFL’s most resilient teams. Now, just wait until they actually start playing good football.
