PSG vs Mbappé explodes: €420m war erupts in Paris court
The long running dispute between Paris Saint Germain & their former superstar Kylian Mbappe escalated dramatically with both sides now demanding extraordinary financial compensation in case currently before the Paris Labour Court.
According to details revealed in court, PSG are seeking 180 million euro in damages from Mbappe while the Real Madrid forward is pursuing €240 million from his former club.
PSG’s legal team argue that the player should compensate the club for the collapse of 300 million euros bid from Saudi club Al Hilal in July 2023 .. an offer Mbappe refused despite PSG’s willingness to sell.
The club claim that the rejection caused them enormous financial loss forming the basis of their €180m compensation request.
The case also stems from the turbulent 2023 summer when the relationship between PSG & Mbappe deteriorated amid contract disagreements and what the player described as psychological pressure from the club as his deal approached expiry.

Mbappe’s counterclaim
For his part Mbappe who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 is demanding:
- €55m in unpaid salaries & bonuses
Mbappe’s legal team estimate that the total amount owed could reach €240m if the court rules in his favour.
The forward insists he never agreed to waive any pending payments contradicting PSG’s position that both parties reached financial settlement before his departure.
PSG requested that the Labour Court relinquish jurisdiction in favour of the Paris Judicial Court but the motion rejected.
