Wizards' Will Riley ejected from G League game after flagrant-2 foul

Washington Wizards rookie Will Riley registered another double-digit scoring outing on assignment in the G League on Sunday in limited minutes with the Capital City Go-Go.

Riley produced 17 points, two rebounds and one assist in a 111-104 victory over the College Park Skyhawks at Gateway Center Arena. He finished by shooting 7-of-14 from the field, including 1-of-3 from 3-point range, as the Go-Go improved to 3-2.

The 21st pick in the draft was limited to 20 minutes in the contest after he was ejected for a flagrant-2 foul early in the third quarter. He appeared to shove Skyhawks center N’Faly Dante, who left the game afterward and wouldn’t return.

Riley debuted with the Go-Go on Friday, totaling 25 points, seven assists, six rebounds and one steal in a loss to the Skyhawks. He finished by shooting 11-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-7 from 3-point range, and was a plus-seven in 37 minutes.

The 19-year-old was assigned to the Go-Go on Friday after playing sparingly to begin the season with the Wizards, totaling just 63 minutes across nine games. He has mostly played mop-up duty and only logged 3 1/2 minutes in his last appearance on Wednesday.

Riley, who was recalled from the Go-Go on Monday, drew praise in training camp thanks to his energy and intensity on the court. He has displayed those traits in the G League and will be looking to carry that momentum with him back to the Wizards.
