Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow wants to come back this season, no matter what the team’s record looks like.
Reports since Burrow’s return to practice last week hinted as much. And anyone with an even slight understanding of Burrow or professional athletes in general knew as much, too.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor added to that notion when asked about Burrow and the team’s 3-7 record impacting a return: “He’s of the mindset that he wants to play football for us.”

So, that ends that.
Unless it doesn’t. Burrow’s body still needs to respond well to the uptick in work. And if the Bengals lose another game or two, higher-ups in the organization, if Taylor himself doesn’t, could have something to say on the matter.
As things stand now? Burrow wants to come back. Burrow probably shouldn’t return to this mess, but he’s clearly working toward a goal everyone understands.
