Falcons list 12 starters on lengthy Week 12 injury report

The Atlanta Falcons have released their first injury report for Sunday’s NFC South matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Both teams are struggling this season, combining to go 5-15 through the first 20 games. However, while many expected the Saints to be bad, many projected the Falcons to be a playoff team.

Atlanta has been hit with a rash of injuries in recent weeks. The team placed starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. on the injured reserve list with a partially torn ACL. Penix is out for the rest of the season, meaning Kirk Cousins will step in for the final seven games.

Wide receiver Drake London has been ruled out for Week 12 with a knee injury of his own. The Falcons listed 12 total starters on Wednesday’s injury report, including Mike Hughes, Xavier Watts, Matthew Bergeron and Chris Lindstrom. Several of the players listed were simply resting.

The Saints listed six players on their first Week 12 injury report, including wide receivers Chris Olave and Brandin Cooks. Check out each team’s full Wednesday injury report below.
